Vermont Show and Workshop

Hello folks! I wanted to let you know that I’m both playing a show and leading a workshop way up north in Vermont on Saturday, November 14th.

First up will be the workshop: “Songster Guitar: From Banjo to Guitar and Back Again” at the Summit School of Traditional Music and Culture in Montpelier, VT from 2:00-3:30pm. In the past 10 years, I have developed a style of guitar playing that incorporates a lot of the ideas of the old timey banjo playing. In this workshop I will be teaching the basic notions of frailing the guitar, interesting strums, and also the joys that can be found in using basic open tunings on the guitar as shown in early old time blues and country recordings. Registration info here!

And rounding out the evening, I’ll head over to Randolph, VT to play at the Chandler Center for the Arts at 7:30pm. I’ll be joined by Brian Farrow on bass and fiddle. Grab tickets to the show here!
Hope to see y’all there!
