Grammy winner Dom Flemons brings history to The Station stage

Dom Flemons didn’t set out to become a career musician.

In the beginning, he told The Daily Times recently, he was simply fascinated with the art form’s role as a document of history and a window into talent and times long gone. With his old band, the Carolina Chocolate Drops, he helped shine a contemporary light on the African-American stringband traditions of Southern Appalachia, and as a solo performer for the last three years, he’s continued his role as both an entertainer and an educator.
